CHECKMATE IN COUTURE
Skye Aire called me with an idea: couture, black and white, and a room full of women posed like chess pieces. I was in before she finished the sentence. Skye never brings ordinary ideas. That's why I keep saying yes. The whole day felt more like a dance party than a photoshoot. The music never stopped, and neither did we. We'd dance, laugh, shoot a few frames, then do it all over again. Denver Photo Collective handed me every light I could ask for. Naturally, I tried almost all of them. But the real star was the window light. It kept carving these beautiful shadows across the studio, and I couldn't stay away from it. Every model brought something different. Nobody tried to steal the scene, yet everyone did. I left with photos I love. I left an even bigger fan of everyone in that room.
